Les sourcils relevés et la bouche entrouverte, je suis un masque de théâtre traditionnel japonais représentant un prince très triste. Observe les trous pour respirer au niveau de la bouche et des narines. Ils sont très réduits afin que le vrai visage de l’acteur qui me porte soit dissimulé.
With my raised eyebrows and half-open mouth, I am a mask from traditional Japanese theatre that represents a very sad prince. You can see the holes for breathing at the mouth and nostrils. They are very small so that the face of the real actor who wears me cannot be seen.
أنا قناع من المسرح التقليدي الياباني، أجسّد بحاجبي المرفوعين وفمي نصف المفتوح أميرا في غاية الحزن. تأمّل فتحات التنفّس في مستوى الفم والمنخرين. إنها ضيّقة جدا من أجل إخفاء الوجه الحقيقيّ للممثّل الذي يحملني.
Je suis sculpté dans un bloc de bois japonais, appelé hinoki, puis peint.
I am carved from a block of Japanese wood called hinoki, then painted.
نُحِتُّ من قطعة خشب ياباني، يسمّى «هينوكي»، ثم صُبغت بالطلاء.
Je viens du Japon.
Autour de 1950, il y a environ 70 ans.
